Scholarship Collection Made at 2022 Family Reunion in Corpus Christie, TX
And Status of 2020, 2021 and 2022 Scholarship Distributions
As you have done in the past, the LCH Family has been super generous in its contributions to the Scholarship Fund. As I reported at the reunion, the account balance stood at $2305.74. This was sufficient to cover awards for 2020 and 2021. The collection was to cover awards to be granted in 2022, 2023 and 2024. The amount collected at the reunion and afterwards came to a total of $5400.00 leaving the fund with a grand total of $7705.74. You are wonderful!
However, we do have a problem. Even though I distributed applications to 2020, 2021 and 2022 graduates who were present at the reunion or members of their families, only one application was returned and that one was for 2020. That one applicant, Miles Thomas, met the requirements and was awarded the $1000 scholarship. Our problem -- we still need applicants for 2021 and 2022. I know these young people are out there, so if you know of them and they graduated in 2021 and 2022, please have them to submit an application. The deadline for applications has been extended to October 31, 2022. It is our responsibility to make our children aware of the scholarship and to have them to apply. If there is no response after this plea for applicants, we will simply not make awards for 2021 and 2022. I will then turn over the administration of the Scholarship Fund to William Hayes who volunteered at the reunion.
